Ear Training (ET) 3A It is very important to learn to “hear” intervals. Why? Because intervals are the building blocks of music. The distance between each and every note on the page and the next is called an interval. And each interval has its own unique sound. Learning to recognize intervals is of critical importance on the violin for any musician looking to develop their relative pitch. It allows the violinist to tune the violin properly (as there is a fifth between each open string that the player must learn to recognize). Fundamental ear training includes intervals, major and minor scales, triads, and seventh chords in root and inverted positions, dominant seventh chords in same, rhythm reading in simple and compound meter. Sight singing includes simple diatonic major and minor melodies. Prerequisites: Music Theory K or instructor’s signature. Time Table: Every Saturday at 10:00AM-10:50AM Can My Child Join In Anytime?
